The Work of Her Hands

Chapel on the Hill's Ladies Fellowship has been busy.

The women's group meets the second Tuesday of each month; at their October meeting, they began much work for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Thanksgiving Boxes of Love have been assigned, and all the many specific food items will be brought in to church in another week. (Each box contains all the 'fixings' for a large meal). They will be given to Star of Hope Ministries in Paterson, to distribute to needy families, so they can have a special Thanksgiving.

The People With Aids project makes certain that all sorts of new items (bathrobes, underwear, toiletries, lap blankets, etc.) are provided and wrapped for our missionary in New York City to distribute at Christmastime. Other items are being sent to our retired missionary in Lousiana, for distribution in a nursing home there.

For Camp Elim in Haiti, bundles of wash cloths, toiletries, and hair ties are being sent, along with handmade lightweight blankets and children's clothes.

For Christmas gifts for needy children through Star of Hope Ministries, brand new board games are being bought and given (the mission's request this time), along with blankets.

And this year, handknit scarves with hand-crocheted matching hats are being sent to our missionaries in Alaska, the Pages, to be flown into Russia and handed out to children in orphanages there. At the October meeting, some of the women in Ladies Fellowship just learned - or re-learned - how to knit, specifically so that they could make these scarves and hats.

The Ladies Fellowship list of items needed for the fall ministries says,
"God gives us all we need so we can give to those in need!"
